This year the OntarioMills Mall is pleased to announce its newest fundraiser for the Simon Youth Foundation (SYF) and Friends .The “ Inland Empire Community Festival ”is an unprecedented weekend of music and community activities designed tostimulate the local economy with a combination of creative and exciting events. Friday, August 28 th – Wind down and “CelebrateCommunity” onopening day of the festival as it kicks off Country Western style with- Recording Artist- Host Amy Scruggsand Co-Host Al Mac Will . Food vendors are heating up the grills. Get out yourcowboy boots and your line dancing shoes as the IECF celebrates life to thesounds of country western, country western soul, blues and swing. Join your neighbors at the Mills for an evening filled with music,food, and fun. Dress in your best western gear as the ‘IECF’ selects the “BestDressed western dressed western folks”. Line dance and relax as you celebrate life . Time: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Saturday, August 29 th – Featuring Cosby Show’s – Malcom JamalWarner- The IECF rings withthe smooth sound of JAZZ . Enjoy amixture of Latin Jazz, Jazz Fusion, Old School and Funk .You can two-step on the dance floor while local, national and world-renownedjazz artists take center stage. There’s an array of fun for the mature audiencewith plenty of great food and retail shopping. This upscale community eventwill pay tribute to Jazz legends as Saturday closes with a tribute to a specialsurprise guest. Time: 12:00 PM to 10:00PM Sunday August 30 th – “Family Day at the Mills” Hosted by Pastor Dennis West of Gospel Vision ChristianCenter. Sunday the IECF will honor the Inland Empire’s Leaders and Pastors . Get ready to celebrate with family and friends. Relax and enjoy as Gospel music, Latin Jazz, and Blues . Featured artist include Devo “Called andChosen, Scott Martin Latin Soul Jazz and more… The IECF has an array of activities for kids of all ages: arts & crafts, clowns, face painting,story time with your favorite characters, mascots, magic tricks and more. Time: 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM Each year, wewill present a “ Celebrate Life Award” to a leader in the community that has made an outstanding contribution to ourInland Empire. The 2009 honoree is author and writer, Rob Leicester Wagner forhis work as an editor of the DailyBulletin and his masterpiece writing the “ Sleeping Giant” about the Inland Empire. Mr. Wagner will be availablefor book signings and photo ops throughout the weekend. Proceedsfrom this event benefit multiple charities with variousphilanthropic causes. Using the Simon’s principal of giving, local communityorganizations are excited about the opportunity the festival brings, as allwill benefit from working together to raise funds to accomplish each charity’sgoal .
